Jósef Sigurdsson is an Associate Professor of Economics at Stockholm University. Before joining Stockholm University, he was an Assistant Professor at Bocconi University and at the Norwegian School of Economics. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Iceland, an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Warwick, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Stockholm University. His research spans labor economics and macroeconomics and has been published in leading journals such as the Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, and Journal of Monetary Economics. The work has also been covered by outlets including The Economist. Sigurdsson received the 2020 Peggy and Richard Musgrave Prize for his research on intertemporal labor supply. He is a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the IZA Institute of Labor Economics, and the CESifo network.
Jósef Sigurðsson er dósent í hagfræði við Hagfræðideild Stokkhólmsháskóla. Áður starfaði hann sem lektor við Bocconi-háskóla og Norwegian School of Economics. Jósef lauk B.A.-prófi í hagfræði frá Háskóla Íslands, M.Sc.-prófi í hagfræði frá Warwick-háskóla og doktorsprófi (Ph.D.) í hagfræði frá Stokkhólmsháskóla. Rannsóknir hans spanna vítt svið vinnumarkaðs- og þjóðhagfræði, hafa birst í virtum vísindatímaritum á borð við Review of Economic Studies, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, og Journal of Monetary Economics, og verið til umfjöllunar í fjölmiðlum á borð við The Economist. Hann hlaut Peggy and Richard Musgrave verðlaunin árið 2020 fyrir doktorsrannsóknir sínar á framboði vinnuafls. Jósef er rannsóknarfélagi við Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) í London, IZA Institute of Labor Economics í Bonn og Center for Economic Studies/ifo institute (CESifo) í Munchen.
